Hello Beloved! It’s been a minute since I have been on, and I apologize for that. Huge shout out to my Husband for backing me up and guest writing last week so my site wasn’t a complete ghost town. I have been focusing on reading the Word diligently and letting it really sink into my spirit. For the first time in a while, I have actually stayed consistent with a Bible reading plan, and I am LOVING IT! I have struggled with wanting to read my Bible at times because it can be confusing to me, or honestly, because I get distracted by the bazillion other things I have on my phone and get sucked into them instead. My prayer a lot is “Lord, give me a mighty hunger for Your Word and a burning desire for all things concerning Your Kingdom!” Confessions of a long time Christian….I want to do what I want to do, and sometimes I put my desires above those of God:/:/ I know, I’ll wait for the long gasp of disappointment to end, lol. But, I do understand how awful that sounds, but I’m just trying to be real with y’all. Most of the time, I have every intention (intention counts, right?) of getting on my YouVersion Bible app, and I see the Facebook App icon and my finger just automatically clicks on that instead, and after an hour of scrolling, I completely forget what I originally went on my phone for in the first place. Does that happen to anyone else?

I have, however, really been enjoying a Bible plan on there called ‘AS IT HAPPENED.’ It is the entire Bible in a year in chronological order. It is super easy for me to keep up with and understand. I wanted to share something amazing that popped out to me recently from the book of Exodus! In chapters 25-30, God is commanding Moses to build for Him all this mega extravagant stuff. Included was the ark of the covenant, the Tabernacle of meeting, cups, priestly garments, just ALL THE THINGS! All of these items were to be intensely detailed with specific designs, and made from costly gold and silver. I know the same level (different type) of detail was required for the ark Noah built, but I couldn’t help but be amazed at how the design of this beautiful building that was to be made! It was to have an inner room, an outer room, screened porches, tables, chairs, and cups with trim and overlays. I asked my husband, “who the heck is gonna make all this stuff?! Do they have people in the camp that know how to do that?” He said “oh, yeah.”

Sure enough, as I continued to read chapter 31, God told Moses starting in verse 2, “See, I have chosen Bezalel son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah, 3 and I have filled him with the Spirit of God, with wisdom, with understanding, with knowledge and with all kinds of skills— 4 to make artistic designs for work in gold, silver and bronze, 5 to cut and set stones, to work in wood, and to engage in all kinds of crafts. 6 Moreover, I have appointed Oholiab son of Ahisamak, of the tribe of Dan, to help him. Also I have given ability to all the skilled workers to make everything I have commanded you: 7 the tent of meeting, the ark of the covenant law with the atonement cover on it, and all the other furnishings of the tent— 8 the table and its articles, the pure gold lampstand and all its accessories, the altar of incense, 9 the altar of burnt offering and all its utensils, the basin with its stand— 10 and also the woven garments, both the sacred garments for Aaron the priest and the garments for his sons when they serve as priests, 11 and the anointing oil and fragrant incense for the Holy Place. They are to make them just as I commanded you.”

This is incredible to me because for FIVE chapters, God is telling Moses to make all the things, and I can only imagine what Moses is thinking, haha. He must have been a little overwhelmed like, “how will I accomplish all this?” I know I would be a bit concerned. But Moses doesn’t say anything like that, so who knows, maybe he just knew God had a plan. This was, after all, the man who saw God part an entire sea. So, after God gives him these precise instructions, God encourages him by saying I have CHOSEN these men AND filled them with the Spirit of God, with wisdom, knowledge AND ALL KINDS OF SKILLS! God goes on to explain that He GAVE ABILITY TO ALL THE SKILLED WORKERS to make everything He commanded Moses to make! Wow! This stood out to me because I thought about all the times God has told me to do something that I thought was impossible because I had no skill or ability in that area, (like blogging;))

But I was SO encouraged by the fact that when God gives you an assignment, no matter how small and meaningless or how large and impossible it may seem, He will ALWAYS give you the knowledge, skill, and ability to do it! We don’t have to worry about not being good enough because even if we aren’t, God will make it to where WE ARE IN ORDER TO ACCOMPLISH what HE WANTS US TO ACCOMPLISH FOR HIM!!! That is POWERFUL! I have been discouraged with this whole blogging thing because I feel like it isn’t helping or reaching anyone. But, this story helped me realize that it doesn’t matter what it feels like! The TRUTH is God told me to do it, and He WILL GIVE ME THE ABILITY AND KNOWLEDGE TO DO WHAT HE COMMANDED. My only job is to be obedient, which I am also working on;)

I know there are several other places in the Bible that cover this topic. Like the scriptures, ‘With God, all things are possible,’ or ‘I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me,’ or ‘God will equip you for every good work.’ But this particular situation popped out to me and spoke to me in a special way. I guess that’s why the Bible says the Word is alive and active! I can read the same verse 3 times and get something valuable but different every time! God is so GOOD! I really pray this encouraged you today as it did me! I love you all, and Jesus loves you! Until next time, Beloved…

BE BLESSED!!!
