Good morning Beloved! Today, I want to encourage you in the Lord! It is very easy for one to be afraid and/or anxious with all that is currently happening in the world around us! As believers, we know we have a Living Hope that is Jesus Christ! But, we all need some reminding from time to time to get focused again and KEEP our eyes on the One that provides ALL we need!
In the scripture pictured above, Jesus said He leaves His peace with us! And His peace is perfect, hallelujah! He goes on to say that His peace isn’t like the “world’s peace” because that’s a false sense of peace, a counterfeit right? The world, and it’s governments are always trying to say “look over here, we can take care of you,” or “trust in us, and you will have nothing to worry about!” But, that is the false peace the world peddles and it does not sustain! Woo! Man, just that little piece of the scripture is enough for me to jump and shout! But wait, there’s more!
Jesus commands us to not let our hearts be troubled or afraid, why? He repeats, HIS PERFECT PEACE will calm us in EVERY circumstance and give us courage and strength for EVERY challenge! Oh my, this really does keep getting better and better! I’m really excited now, aren’t you?! I believe, after hearing these words, I can carry on and go about my day in His perfect peace and not be afraid or troubled because He is giving me the strength and courage for everything that is super weird and creepy right now!
Literally, there is so much going on in the world that I wouldn’t be surprised if I saw real life transformers fighting decepticons in the streets! For real y’all, I ain’t even playin. But, even if that were to happen, Jesus promises that He would calm us in that circumstance and challenge as well.
There are so many places in God’s Word where He promises to uphold us and protect us. I actually had many more verses that I wanted to unpack for you this morning. But, I think John 14:27 really drove the point home for now! If we can just meditate on that one promise from our Savior today, I believe it would bring so much comfort and hope for any kind of fear or anxiety that may be trying to plague us in these scary days! I will leave you with my all time favorite bible verse, Jeremiah 29:11. Until next time, Beloved….
BE BLESSED!!!
